WORD FOR LIFE TRUST

2016

Through Living Word Centre and the ministry of the ARK, the Word for Life Trust is reaching out to the lost, broken and rejected in Churachandpur, in Manipur NE India. Sharing God’s love in action with those affected by drug addiction, mental illness and abuse, we are witnessing lives changed, inspired by the hope found in Jesus, that in Him there is “freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1).

Stephen & Diki Hawkins, WFLT Directors live with their family in Diki’s hometown of Churachandpur, or CCPur for short, in Manipur NE India.

Drug addiction, whether it be to local alcohol or cheap heroin from Burma is endemic, destroying the lives of young people and tearing apart families. Prostitution & crime is rife. Manipur has the highest incidence of HIV infection and AIDS, (proportionally) in all India. CCPur is Manipur’s second largest town yet remains a poor, dirty and lawless place.

Manipur though is a beautifully unique and an exotic place to visit, but it’s people are in desperate need. Neglected by the world, but not forgotten by God!

Stephen & Diki and their team at the LWC and ARK are here to “be Jesus” in this place.

WFLT was established in the UK in 1996 specifically “to help individuals and churches to communicate God’s love effectively in His world.” Following the death of Revd. Elizabeth Brazell, founder director of WFLT, in June 2007,Stephen & DIki were appointed it’s Co-Directors.

Through the generosity of WFLT’s “Partners-in-Vision” God is providing for His kingdom work and enabled the building of the Living Word Centre (LWC) in CCPur, which is governed locally as an Indian registered society and Christian ministry centre.

Join us as a “Partner-in-Vision” to see His kingdom come in the lives and to a community in so much need of His love.

To God be the Glory!
